Feb 09 Thursday The second son to Kasinadar/Balammal  (the first son by name PONNURAJAN born an year ago died due to unknown reasons) and named him as THANGARAJAN and that is me(from now on i will address in firt person)
My father ,Kasinadar fell seriously ill and became thin and underwent treatment from a country doctor (kondaikkara vaithiyar--KONDAI- meaning a sort of head gear made of one's own hair locked with a knot tightened to the head and the rest is either wound around the base of the knot ot left free-both women and men fold sport this attire-thagt was the fashion of that time-)
KONDAI IMAGE.

My mother continued to sport this till her last days- she never plaited her hair:my father cut off this 'kondai' and sported crop. However I as a kid sported kondai, ear rings ,silver stringed loins(Annakkayiru).
My father's younger brother GURUSAMY NADAR a former decided to live in ATTRANGARAI  worked in his paddy fields to support the family. He died (reason not known)leaving a daughter PONNUTHAI and a son -again by name THANGARAJAN .My GRANDMA (ayyamma ayya's amma) SIVAKAMI also decided to stay in Atrangaarai to be with his second son.(otherwise she was to come to virudhunagar to stay with our family)
SCHOOLING
I was carried by my mother to the nearby MADATHTHUPALLIJJOODAM  a small school like organisation ('similar to 'creche'), with kondai, ear rings with some flowers decorating my kondai
I spent 2 years in that arrangement and moved to another elementary school run by KVSala .This was situated at the midst of the local market a few minutes walk from our shop in front of Teppakkulam.

Father never showed any improvement in his health with the country medicine. He took a family photograph -the very first my parents took one-where my father is seated on a woodenchair, mother standing nearby holding my elder sister's hand and me perching on my father's lap.(the photograph was hanging in the hall in our home at virudhunagar till I left for MADRAS in 1960)..That is the time DR.Muthusami started his clinic at ULL streret and my father had a miraculous recovery from his illness(!) aftger he undergone treatment from Dr.Muthusamy.

About my parents
Kasi nadar was born a remote village called ATTRANGARAI situated 4 kms off Karisalkulam another small town located on the road leading from Aruppukkottai to vilathikulam via pudur.
Had his primary studies in his native place for 3 years-upto 3rd std.
Good in arithmatic, tables of 1/16,1/32 of a rupee.Left at the age of 15 from his native place and settled in virudhunagar.
A self learner ,he is, has learnt the art of making 'sevu',a rustic savoury delicacy made from riceflour, chillie, cinnamon, salt and made as a past3e with water handmixed and pressed through a metallic laddle with perforations,The pressed material is allowed to fall straight onto the hot oil fueled with huskis of peanut and other local firewoods burning at the bottom of the metallic container of about 30" diameter!.
The same laddle is used to turn the boiling 'sevu'from the oil to evenout the boiling and the process is continued till a stuff attains goldedn brown colour.
The mass is collected from the same laddle, oil gets drained through the holes on the laddle and after drying it is ekptied on a thin basket made of thin bamboo sticks.

At his age of 24,(1936) He married Balammal, daughter of Madasamy nadar/thenammal of Perilovanpatti a village about 3 Kms at the other side of the riverVAIPPAR which flows at the outskirt of Attrangarai.
